Low Vision Committee

of the

Pennsylvania Council of the Blind

Statement of Purpose

Champions for the rights of Persons with Low Vision! Reaching out to individuals often having to cope with society’s lack of understanding of the multifaceted aspects of vision impairment, while often believing there is no one to whom they can turn for help.

We provide resources, advocacy and support to citizens with Low Vision, their friends and family members throughout Pennsylvania.

The unique needs of persons with low vision are our concern. Your input and questions direct our focused commitment to facilitate dialogue around Low Vision issues, bringing them to the forefront of other consumer based organizations, rehabilitative/Vocational services, and governmental agencies at all levels, while representing your voice for dignity, equal access and participation.

“We Live Between Two Worlds,” to varying degrees neither being fully sighted nor totally blind. Join us as we advocate for a future that celebrates our Differences, In A World of Possibilities!
