The planners of the 2006 Pennsylvania Council of the Blind Convention Welcome you to Lancaster.

·       Doris Suhr

·       Ernest Wright

This year on Friday morning beginning at 8:30, there will be a tour to the Train Museum and Amish Farm Site along with dinner at the Good-N-Plenty Restaurant.

In the afternoon, there will be exhibits including voting machines chosen by Pennsylvania Counties for hands-on examination. Also, a Low-Vision Rehabilitation Workshop planned by PCB’s Low Vision Committee.

There is no meal plan this year since the hotel has a good restaurant and there are other restaurants within walking distance. A list of local restaurants is available at the Convention Registration desk. Also, available are raised line and large print layout maps of the hotel, provided by the Erie Chapter of the Pennsylvania Council of the Blind.

Guide Dog Relief Area

When facing the hotel registration desk, turn left and go past the escalators till you come to a set of glass doors. As soon as you go through these doors, turn right and follow the wall until you come to a waist can and artificial turf. This is the guide dog relief area. Be certain to clean up after your dog using the waist can.

An orientation of the hotel will be offered on Friday at 1:45 pm, starting from the hotel lobby.
